Steven Subodha Nuñez is a Buddhist teacher and lay minister at the International Buddhist Meditation Center Los Angeles. He is Colombian American and was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. He has been studying and practicing Buddhism since he was a child, has a Master of Divinity in Buddhist Ministry, and is currently working on his Doctor of Buddhist Studies. It is at the International Buddhist Meditation Center in Los Angeles where he took refuge and received the Dharma name “Subodha” (Thorough Knowledge). Subodha follows the Kammatthāna tradition of Buddhism and gains inspiration from the Pali Canon and from his practice of Ānāpānasati, mindfulness of breathing. He regards Venerable Havanpola Shanti as his mentor and Phra Thanissaro Bhikkhu as his teacher. Subodha has been giving talks as a Dharma teacher since July 2017. He conducts guided meditation on the first Sunday of the month and typically gives Dharma talks on the third Sunday month at IBMC.
