Steven Subodha Nuñez is a Buddhist teacher and lay minister at the International Buddhist Meditation Center Los Angeles. He is Colombian American and was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. He has been studying and practicing Buddhism since he was a child, has a Master of Divinity in Buddhist Ministry, and is currently working on a Doctor of Buddhist Studies. It is at the International Buddhist Meditation Center in Los Angeles where he formally took refuge and received the Dharma name “Subodha” (Thorough Knowledge). Subodha follows the Kammatthāna tradition of Buddhism. He regards Phra Ajaan Thanissaro Bhikkhu as his teacher and Venerable Havanpola Shanti as his mentor. Subodha has been giving talks as a Dharma teacher since July 2017. He leads meditation and gives Dharma talks on the third Sunday of the month at IBMC.
